My name is Mandy and for almost 30 years I have enjoyed working with children as a teacher. I have always been passionate about wildlife and nature so when I had the opportunity to swim with wild turtles in Mexico a few years ago, I was completely blown away.
My love for the ocean and all it’s incredible creatures was firmly cemented.
Like many other people, I was heartbroken when I saw the images of our incredible marine life being choked by plastic on the BBC’s “Blue Planet II” programme. At first I felt helpless to do anything about it but when Sir David Attenborough spoke at the end of the series telling us that we had never had a better opportunity to do something about it, I felt inspired to take action.
Together with my daughter, we began “Do it for David”. We set up a website and through our blog, Facebook and Instagram page we share ideas about how to reduce plastic, give updates on plastic pollution and encourage people to pick up litter.
The next logical step for me was to create a store that was accessible to everyone, helping people to reduce their plastic footprint as painlessly and affordable as possible.
So here it is! Hope you like it.
